Who comes to our School?

The children who attend Whitefield Primary School come from a very wide area, from our local Whitefield houses to as far away as Lostock Hall and Walton-le-Dale. 

We have many children who come to us from the Hutton/Longton area, Broadoak area and also from Preston City.

Our school is wonderfully diverse with 14% of our children coming from a different ethnic background to white British. This is wonderful as we are always celebrating religious festivals in school and learning about each other's cultures.  

We have 60 places in each year group that are split in to two classes of 30 from Years 3-6. The children in Years 1 and 2 are in three mixed Y1 and 2 classes. Reception children are taught as a class of less than 30 with a group of children accessing outdoor learning and Forest School every day.

In September 2025, we have 350 children at our school.

In September 2025, all those who put Whitefield as their first school preference got a place at Whitefield.
